Summer 1 Week 4

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have had another successful week of learning at the Secondary School. I am impressed with how well the children are adapting to the new school arrangements and their attitude towards learning. I will be continuing to review the children’s books and talking to them about their work as part of our school improvement initiatives this term. This week, the children will be participating in Mental Health Awareness Week. The theme of the 2021 Mental Health Awareness Week is ‘Nature’. Having access to nature and benefiting from its many advantages is vital to keeping good mental health. We’ve seen just how essential having access to nature is , particularly, during the pandemic. Going for walks and enjoying the beauty of nature during a time of stress and anxiety has helped to alleviate many people’s lives during the lockdown. This week the children will be enjoying the acres of land that we have access to – we are hoping for good weather! Keep an eye on the Class Blogs and Class Dojo to see what the children get up to.
Congratulations to Mrs Swain and her husband on the birth of their baby daughter – this is such exciting news, and we cannot wait to meet her.

Lunches:

Children will still be required to bring in a packed lunch until further notice, as hot meals are not currently being provided.

Keeping Our Community Safe:

It has been a great relief to many to see the rules around Covid gradually relaxing. Please remember, though, that the rules for school and self-isolation have not changed. If your child, or anyone else in your household, experiences any of the three main symptoms of:

  • persistent cough,
  • temperature of 37.8 degrees Celsius or higher
  • loss of taste or smell you should begin self-isolation and book a Covid test.

SHOULD YOUR CHILD DEVELOP ANY OF THE SYMPTOMS ABOVE, PLEASE INFORM THE SCHOOL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (VIA EMAIL) TO ENSURE THAT THE SCHOOL CAN TAKE THE NECCESARY PRECAUTIONS IN-LINE WITH OUR RISK ASSESSMENT AND GUIDANCE FROM OUR LOCAL HEALTH PROTECTION TEAM. PLEASE SEND THE EMAIL TO EITHER head@stanboroughprimary.org.ukor info@stanboroughprimary.org.uk

Attendance W/C 3rd May 2021

Each school in the local authority has an attendance target which is set for them. This year our published school attendance target is 96%. I am impressed with last week’s attendance – let’s aim for  100% across all year groups this week.

Please contact the office if your child is unable to attend school by 10:00am every day in line with our school policy. We understand that the building is cold but we have to keep the windows open for ventilation due to Government regulations, so please ensure that your children arrive to school with lots of layers to keep warm.
