Summer 1 Week 5

Dear Parents/Carers,

Despite the rain and wind, particularly at pick-up times, we have had another successful week of learning. The staff and I thoroughly enjoyed our annual Talent Show. It was lovely to see some of the Reception children, particularly Isaiah and Ed Mitchell, eager to share their gift of singing ‘This Little Light of Mine’ with the whole school. I am so proud and truly blessed by the many gifts and talents of the children in our school. I would also like to thank the staff for getting involved too!

Last week the year 5 and 6 children had a lesson exploring patterns in computing with Mr Vakilpour and a PE Lesson with the year 11 students who were developing their leadership skills. Both sessions were a resounding success and have left our primary pupils very much wanting more! We are sending prayers and best wishes to the year 11s this week as they prepare to complete their final assessments for the year.

Keeping Our Community Safe:

It has been a great relief to many to see the rules around Covid gradually relaxing. Please remember, though, that the rules for school and self-isolation have not changed. If your child, or anyone else in your household, experiences any of the three main symptoms of:

–          persistent cough,

–          temperature of 37.8 degrees Celsius or higher

–          loss of taste or smell you should begin self-isolation and book a Covid test.

SHOULD YOUR CHILD DEVELOP ANY OF THE SYMPTOMS ABOVE, PLEASE INFORM THE SCHOOL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (VIA EMAIL) TO ENSURE THAT THE SCHOOL CAN TAKE THE NECCESARY PRECAUTIONS IN-LINE WITH OUR RISK ASSESSMENT AND GUIDANCE FROM OUR LOCAL HEALTH PROTECTION TEAM. PLEASE SEND THE EMAIL TO EITHER head@stanboroughprimary.org.ukor info@stanboroughprimary.org.uk

Attendance W/C 17th May 2021

Each school in the local authority has an attendance target which is set for them. This year our published school attendance target is 96%. I am impressed with last week’s attendance – let’s aim for  100% across all year groups this week.

Year GroupAttendance %

Reception91.11
Year 1100%
Year 293.33
Year 382.86

Please contact the office if your child is unable to attend school by 10:00am every day in line with our school policy. We understand that the building is cold, but we have to keep the windows open for ventilation due to Government regulations, so please ensure that your children arrive at school with lots of layers to keep warm.

Please do let friends and family in the community (or further afield) know that we are still accepting pupils this year and from September onwards. Please click on admission to register your interest.
