Autumn 1 Week 4

Dear Parents and Carers,

The weeks are flying by this half term – it is hard to believe that there are only three weeks left until the Autumn half-term break. On Thursday, 29th September, it was International Day. At Stanborough Primary School, we recognise that diversity makes us all different, and we embrace the uniqueness of every child within our school every day.

At Stanborough Primary School we embrace every child’s and their family’s uniqueness – their own cultures. I want to thank Mrs Moshen and Fatima for sharing their culture and traditions with the year two children as part of their RE lesson.

We held our first joint assembly on Friday with Stanborough Secondary School at Stanborough Park Church. I want to thank all parents who were able to attend and for your kindness in donating food. Also, I want to thank the children who participated during the assembly – the KS2 choir sang beautifully. Thank you, Miss Ahn.

Today we will hold our annual elections for the various junior leadership positions across the school:

·         School Council

·         Team Captains

·         Faith Ambassadors

·         Digital Leaders

·         Wellbeing Champions

I look forward to sharing the results with you.

We will also be celebrating Black History month -please keep an eye on class blogs and Class Dojo to see what the children are learning about.

Attendance W/C 26th September 2022:

Each school in the local authority has an attendance target that is set for them. This year our school attendance target is 96%. Of course, we do not expect children who are unwell to come to school. They need to stay at home and rest to get well. They also need to stay at home, so they do not pass on illness to others.

I am super impressed with this week’s attendance figures – keep up the good work!
