Summer 1 Week 5

Dear Parents and Carers,

Last week, the Key Stage 2 SATs took place. Despite the slight apprehension and nerves, we know that all the children (and adults) have managed incredibly well. I want to thank Miss K for ensuring the children had a healthy breakfast each day and were relaxed prior to the tests. I would also like to appreciate the rest of the school for encouraging the Year 6 children and for being super quiet as they moved around the building. Their support was fantastic!

A huge thank you to our school governors who oversaw the administration and storage of the tests throughout the week. We can confirm that the school compiled with all relevant legislation in this area.

Furthermore, we are immensely proud of how our Year 6s conducted themselves over the week. They have been superb, and we know that they worked extremely hard and did their absolute best. A huge well done to both children and staff in Year 6!

This week, we are excited for our in-house talent show which will take place on Wednesday 18th May. This is a fun opportunity for the children to share their talents. Any individual or group can participate. However, the children must register their items with Mrs Warwick at the Office. Participants will be decided on a first-come-first-served basis.

Our value for this week is Kindness. Today, during assembly, we talked about how kindness is being friendly, generous, and considerate to others and yourself. Being kind often requires courage and strength as it involves the willingness to celebrate and give attention to someone else. This week the children have been challenged to complete random acts of kindness at home and school. We encourage all parents and carers to let class teachers know when a random act of kindness has been shown at home so that we can celebrate and promote this behaviour within our school community.

Attendance W/C 2nd May 2022:

Each school in the local authority has an attendance target that is set for them. This year our school attendance target is 97%. Of course, we do not expect children who are unwell to come into school. They need to stay at home and rest to get well. They also need to stay at home, so they don’t pass on illness to others.
