Dear Parents and Carers,
I do hope that you are keeping well and enjoyed the half-term break. We are looking forward to a term of exciting and fun learning. The staff and I were excited to welcome the children back to school, albeit online, due to circumstances beyond our control. Nevertheless, the children have returned to online learning superbly, showing the values of resilience, co-operation and independence. A great start to the new term! We are praying that we will return to school as usual from Monday 26th April 2021; we will, of course, keep you updated.

Keeping Our Community Safe:
Please check your child for symptoms, and do not come into school if they or anyone in your family show the following symptoms:
- a high temperature (please try to take their temperature every morning)
- a new, continuous cough or symptoms – this means coughing a lot, for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours
- a loss or change to sense of smell or taste – this means they cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
The above 3 symptoms are from the NHS, and you should always consult your GP or call 111 NHS or use the coronavirus service https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19/
What to do if you have symptoms:
If you have any of the main symptoms of coronavirus:
1. Get a test to check if you have coronavirus as soon as possible.
2. Stay at home and do not have visitors until you get your test result – only leave your home to have a test.
3. Anyone you live with, and anyone in your support bubble, must also stay at home until you get your result. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/ Always contact the school if you are unsure of what to do or would like some advice.
SHOULD YOUR CHILD DEVELOP ANY OF THE ABOVE SYMPTOMS, PLEASE INFORM THE SCHOOL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (VIA EMAIL) TO ENSURE THAT THE SCHOOL CAN TAKE THE NECCESARY PRECAUTIONS IN-LINE WITH OUR RISK ASSESSMENT AND GUIDANCE FROM OUR LOCAL HEALTH PROTECTION TEAM. PLEASE SEND THE EMAIL TO EITHER head@stanboroughprimary.org.uk or info@stanboroughprimary.org.uk
Attendance W/C 29th March 2021:
Each school in the local authority has an attendance target which is set for them. This year our published school attendance target is 96%. Attendance is still a key area of improvement for the school. Let’s do all we can to ensure that we exceed our attendance target this term.
Nursery | 76.92% |
Reception | 90.28% |
Year 1 | 100% |
Year 2 | 88.0% |
Year 3 | 93.75% |
Year 4 | 91.07% |

Please contact the office if your child is unable to attend school by 10:00am every day in line with our school policy. We understand that the building is cold but we have to keep the windows open for ventilation due to Government regulations, so please ensure that your children arrive to school with lots of layers to keep warm.
Chromebooks:
Just a reminder that children can bring their personal Chromebooks into school next week. If your child does not have a Chromebook, they will have full access to a school laptop when required.
School Dinners Reminder:
Children will be able to bring in packed lunches as normal. Hot meals will be available to order via the school office, payments should be made directly to the school bank account or the school office (£90 for Summer Term first half or £127.50 for the WHOLE SUMMER TERM). Please wear a face mask and maintain your distance at all times when entering the school office.
