Dear Parents and Carers,
We hope that you are well. We had an incredible first week of online learning – thank you for your patience during our first few days of live lessons using Google Meet or Zoom. It was the first time many of our staff have used ‘Google Meet’ or Zoom to deliver live lessons but by now they are feeling more confident and are improving each day. If you have concerns then please contact us immediately as we are here to help.
As the number of Covid-19 cases is continuing to rise, we would ask that children of critical workers and vulnerable children as well as families with children in the Nursery, only request a place if really needed as it is in the best interest of all to keep our number low to limit the potential risk of transmission. Thank you for continuing to wear your mask and keeping your space whilst visiting the school office.

FAO of Parents Whose Children are in school:
Please check your child for symptoms, and do not come into school if they or anyone in your family show the following symptoms:
- a high temperature (please try to take their temperature every morning)
- a new, continuous cough or symptoms – this means coughing a lot, for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours
- a loss or change to sense of smell or taste – this means they cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
The above 3 symptoms are from the NHS, and you should always consult your GP or call 111 NHS or use the coronavirus service https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19/
What to do if you have symptoms:
If you have any of the main symptoms of coronavirus:
1. Get a test to check if you have coronavirus as soon as possible.
2. Stay at home and do not have visitors until you get your test result – only leave your home to have a test.
3. Anyone you live with, and anyone in your support bubble, must also stay at home until you get your result. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/ Always contact the school if you are unsure of what to do or would like some advice.
SHOULD YOUR CHILD DEVELOP ANY OF THE ABOVE SYMPTOMS OVER THE WEEKEND, PLEASE INFORM THE SCHOOL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (VIA EMAIL) TO ENSURE THAT THE SCHOOL CAN TAKE THE NECCESARY PRECAUTIONS IN-LINE WITH OUR RISK ASSESSMENT AND GUIDANCE FROM OUR LOCAL HEALTH PROTECTION TEAM. PLEASE SEND THE EMAIL TO EITHER head@stanboroughprimary.org.uk or info@stanboroughprimary.org.uk
Attendance:
Each school in the local authority has an attendance target which is set for them. This year our published school attendance target is 96%.
Please see below for all classes with 100% attendance last week:
Nursery | 92% |
Reception | 84.3% |
Year 1 | 100% |
Year 2 | 98.2% |
Year 3 | 94.4% |
Year 4 | 100% |
Year 5 | 100% |
Year 6 | 96.4% |
If you are requesting time off for your child for exceptional circumstances such as an operation, you must complete an Absence Request Form. You can get an Absence Request Form from the office. Please let the school office know if your child needs to isolate immediately as this will enable us to provide a remote provision for your son or daughter.
Have a wonderful Sabbath!
Kind regards
Mrs T Madden
