Dear Parents/Carers,
As spring is clearly on the way, I am reminded that longer days and (slightly) warmer weather is good for the soul! Last week the children enjoyed a Lego day to celebrate and introduce Science Week – please do keep an eye on class blogs and Class Dojo to see what the children get up to this week.
We are pleased to announce that we will be re-opening the playground during drop off and collection times for parents and carers from today. The hall and Junior Doors will be open from 8:30am each day to enable learning to begin promptly at 8:45am. Children should be collected from the following collection points at the end of each day:
EYFS – Double doors under the shelter
Year 1 – Hall doors
Year 2 & 3 Doors
Year 4 & 5 Classroom external door (near portacabin)
Year 6 Classroom external door (near portacabin)
Please note that the one system has been removed. Instead, you will need to enter and exit the playground via the green gates.
On another note, we are very proud of our school and local community for providing these donations for Ukrainian Refugees. Even when our living costs are soaring, it’s humbling to see the extraordinary generosity of those around us. May God continue to bless you all.

RED NOSE DAY – FRIDAY 18th MARCH 2022
On Friday 18th March 2022 we will be joining other schools across the country in raising money for Comic Relief. This charity supports people across the world and every penny that we can raise will support those most in need. As part of our fundraising efforts we will be having a ‘Heroes’ Day on Friday 18th March. Children can come into school dressed as their hero, this could be superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, a member of the uniformed services or anyone that is their hero. In return for coming into school dressed up, we are asking for a donation of £1.00 to Comic Relief. The school council will also be hosting a cake sale – all cakes will be priced at 50p.
Attendance W/C 7th March 2022:
Each school in the local authority has an attendance target that is set for them. This year our school attendance target is 97%. Of course, we do not expect children who are unwell to come into school. They need to stay at home and rest to get well. They also need to stay at home, so they don’t pass on illness to others.
Year Group | Attendance % |
Nursery | 71.88% |
Reception | 92% |
Year 1 | 68.09% |
Year 2 | 100% |
Year 3 | 70% |
Year 4 | 100% |
Year 5 | 96.67% |
Year 6 | 96/67% |
Please contact the office if your child is unable to attend school by 10:00am every day in line with our school policy. We understand that the building is cold, but we have to keep the windows open for ventilation due to Government regulations, so please ensure that your children arrive at school with lots of layers to keep warm.
Fundraising Clothes Bank:
Please feel free to donate any unwanted clothes, shoes or textiles which will help raise funds for our school. Please ensure that all items are in a carrier bag/black sack before depositing. Thank you.

Advice from School Health Dental and Eye Care
Did you know that all children should have a dental check-up at least yearly?
Children should start going to see a dentist as soon as their milk teeth appear. NHS dental care for children is free. Also, all children should have a regular eye check at a high street opticians. The routine eye test will check if your child needs glasses and is also an important check for overall eye health. Optician appointments are free for children and some glasses are free or subsidised by the NHS. You can search for a local NHS dentist at the link below – https://www.nhs.uk/service-search/find-a-Dentist
