Our nursery children are having a blast learning about the importance of dental hygiene. Through role-playing as dentists and using their own toothbrushes and toothpastes, they are discovering the fun in keeping those pearly white shining.
TOOTH DECAY EXPERIMENT WITH EGG SHELLS
We can’t experiment on our own teeth so are using eggs to represent them, as the shell of an egg is made of a similar substance to tooth enamel!

It is also a requirement of the EYFS guidelines: “All settings must promote the good health, including oral health, of children attending the setting.” There are three main themes in good dental health: Keep sugary and acidic food and drinks to mealtimes. Brush teeth at least twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste.
