Dear Parents and Carers,
SCHOOL VALUE OF THE WEEK: Respect
The staff and I enjoyed welcoming all pupils back to back at school after the half-term break! I do hope you managed to have a restful break and were able to do some special things as a family. As always, the children were keen to be back in school, racing through the gates and telling us all their news. They are so resilient and positive, which is what we all need in these bleak times. Now that a second national lockdown is in place, I want to reassure you that the staff and I will continue to implement the stringent measures that we have in place to keep everyone safe. Please be reminded that all after school clubs are cancelled from today until further notice.
Parent Evenings:
Thank you to everyone who attended our first virtual Parent Consultation Meetings on Wednesday 4th November and Thursday 5th November 2020 where teachers shared details about your son or daughter’s progress and targets. You will be receiving an electronic copy of your child’s autumn report card.
This week, we will be sending out a Governor Questionnaire to ascertain your thoughts on how well the school is managed and your child’s progress to date. The School Governors and the Senior Leadership remain committed to driving school improvement and creating an environment where your son or daughter can shine and thrive.
Remembrance Day – Wednesday 11th November 2020:
To mark Remembrance this year, we will be sharing some artwork and activities that the children have completed via Class Dojo and will be showing our respect remotely from classrooms.
Children in Need:
We are hoping to see spots on Friday 13th November as we ask children to wear something spotty or yellow to support this year’s Children in Need. £1.50 donations can be given to the class teacher on this occasion.
Flu Vaccines:
Please note this took place today in a socially distanced manner.

Keeping our Community Safe:
Please check your child for symptoms, and do not come into school if they or anyone in your family show the following symptoms:
- a high temperature (please try to take their temperature every morning)
- a new, continuous cough or symptoms – this means coughing a lot, for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours
- a loss or change to sense of smell or taste – this means they cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
The above 3 symptoms are from the NHS, and you should always consult your GP or call 111 NHS or use the coronavirus service https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19/
What to do if you have symptoms:
If you have any of the main symptoms of coronavirus:
1. Get a test to check if you have coronavirus as soon as possible.
2. Stay at home and do not have visitors until you get your test result – only leave your home to have a test.
3. Anyone you live with, and anyone in your support bubble, must also stay at home until you get your result. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/ Always contact the school if you are unsure of what to do or would like some advice.
SHOULD YOUR CHILD DEVELOP ANY OF THE ABOVE SYMPTOMS OVER THE WEEKEND, PLEASE INFORM THE SCHOOL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (VIA EMAIL) TO ENSURE THAT THE SCHOOL CAN TAKE THE NECCESARY PRECAUTIONS IN-LINE WITH OUR RISK ASSESSMENT AND GUIDANCE FROM OUR LOCAL HEALTH PROTECTION TEAM. PLEASE SEND THE EMAIL TO EITHER head@stanboroughprimary.org.uk or info@stanboroughprimary.org.uk
Chromebooks:
If you haven’t already placed your order for a Chromebook then please do so by the end of the school day. Completed order forms should be emailed to info@stanboroughprimary.org.uk
Attendance:
Each school in the local authority has an attendance target which is set for them. This year our published school attendance target is 96%.
Please see below for all classes with 100% attendance last week:
Nursery | 100% |
Reception | 100% |

If you are requesting time off for your child for exceptional circumstances such as an operation, you must complete an Absence Request Form. You can get an Absence Request Form from the office. Please let the school office know if your child needs to isolate immediately as this will enable us to provide a remote provision for your son or daughter.
Safeguarding:
We know that this lockdown period can be a particularly challenging time, please be assured that if you are concerned about your child and would like some advice in what to do, we are available to talk. You can also find further information from the NSPCC who are a go –to organisation with useful resources and tips for parents. Please see the link below for more information.
