Autumn 2 Week 2

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been wonderful to be reunited with the children after a restful half-term! The children have come back to school with great attitudes this week and have been acclimatising well to the colder and wetter weather at playtimes and lunchtimes. We want to thank everyone who attended the Parent Consultation Meetings last week – the teachers and I enjoyed sharing your child’s progress and targets for this term. Please note, if you were unable to attend then you will receive an electronic copy of your child’s autumn report card this week. In addition, I will also be sending out a Governor Questionnaire, on behalf of the governing body, to ascertain your thoughts on how well the school is managed and your child’s progress to date. The School Governors and the Senior Leadership Team remain committed to driving school improvement and creating an environment where your son or daughter can shine and thrive.

Week of Prayer & Maths Week:

I want to encourage you to keep an eye on Class Dojo and to have discussions with your children about the various maths activities they will participate in across the week.

Our week of prayer topic and focus is Discipleship. The children will attend an assembly led by Pastor Shepley, Pastor Davies, Pastor Ray Patrick (our school Chaplin) and Pastor Messenger who are regular visitors to the school. We are excited to learn more about discipleship and to hear from God through His ministers and each other. The children will be given time after each assembly for reflection and discussion in their classes.

Remembrance Day – Friday 11th November 2022:

To mark Remembrance Day this year we will be attending a special service in the Peace Garden, and we will share artwork and activities that the children have completed via Class Dojo.

They need to stay at home and rest to get well. They also need to stay at home, so they do not pass on illness to others.

Be Bright Be Seen:

Now that winter is coming and it is getting darker in the evenings, we ask that you remind your children about the importance of wearing bright clothing and making themselves visible to others, especially vehicles.

If they ride a bike to and from school, it is a legal requirement for them to have a front and rear light on their bikes. You might also choose to ensure that they wear reflective accessories.

Please also remind them of the importance of looking properly before crossing the road, making themselves seen and avoiding distraction.

End-of-Day Procedures:

Please note that the gates to the main playground and Nursey area will close promptly at 4 pm each day. Thank you.

Car Park:

Unlike most primary schools across the country, we have been blessed with ample car parking spaces. Therefore, when dropping off or collecting your child please can I ask you to remember and continue to be considerate and ensure that you are not obstructing others in the bay or the zig-zag area. Our children’s safety is our main priority.  We appreciate your support in this matter.
