Autumn 1 Week 3

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been another busy week at school. Senior Leaders met to reflect on our achievements from last year and agree on our next steps for this year. Over the next two weeks, we will consult with staff, pupils and governors to finalise our targets for this year and share these with you in due course.

The staff and I thoroughly enjoyed an impromptu basketball game with the Year 5 and 6 pupils. Well done, Zachary, for scoring the ‘last goal wins!’ The staff and I are looking forward to a rematch at some point.

Monthly Assemblies at Stanborough Church:

We are delighted to inform you that, this academic year, we will be working more collaboratively with Stanborough Church and Stanborough Secondary School. On Friday 30th September, we will be holding our first joint assembly between the schools at Stanborough Church (609 St Albans Rd, Watford WD25 9JL).

Joint assemblies will take place once per month; it is scheduled to be the last Friday of each month. We would like to request that you drop your children off directly at the church no later than 8.40 am. Members of the SLT and your child’s teacher will be waiting to greet them. If your child is unable to meet us at the Church, they should come to the Primary School no later than 8.30 am and a member of staff will escort them to the venue.

As it is the Harvest Festival period, we are asking all children to bring a food item (e.g., tins, fruits, pasta, vegetables etc) this week in preparation for Friday. All food items will be distributed to those in need by Stanborough Park Church. Parents and Carers are encouraged to stay for assembly this week (Friday, 30th September) as it will replace our annual Harvest Festival assembly which was scheduled to take place on Wednesday 12th October 2022.

Attendance W/C 19th September 2022:

Each school in the local authority has an attendance target that is set for them. This year our school attendance target is 96%. Of course, we do not expect children who are unwell to come to school. They need to stay at home and rest to get well. They also need to stay at home, so they do not pass on illness to others.

I am super impressed with this week’s attendance figures – keep up the good work!
