What Have Y1/2 Been Learning?

Art

We have some budding artists in our class. Children have been sketching birds and feathers in preparation for the construction of 3D birds. They have learnt about continuous line drawing and the effects created from different techniques.

Geography

In geography we have been learning about where our food comes from. Children designed and built their own dairy farm from Lego. We have learned that milk is a raw material used to make various foods like yoghurt, cheese and chocolate. We had fun tasting these foods and making cheese toasties.

.

We participated in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch this year! Venturing into our picturesque park, we eagerly observed and identified various bird species, documenting our findings on a tally chart. The activity not only enhanced our understanding of local birdlife but also fostered a sense of appreciation for nature.

English

Congratulations to our talented and dedicated young authors whose short stories have been published in the prestigious Young Writer’s anthology, ‘Super Pets’! This incredible accomplishment is a testament to their creativity, hard work, and passion for storytelling. Well done budding authors for your outstanding achievement! We eagerly anticipate more literary successes in the future.
