Summer 2 Week 2

Dear Parents and Carers,

We trust that you are well. Once again, thank you for your understanding and flexibility regarding our current situation, which has required us to work collaboratively with Stanborough Secondary School to provide face-to-face learning. I will, of course, continue to keep you posted regarding the full reopening of the Primary School. The staff and I are looking forward to seeing the children’s smiling faces as they return to school tomorrow for in-person teaching and learning. I am looking forward to seeing them all grow and develop further over the coming weeks.

Lunches:

Children will be required to bring in a packed lunch as hot meals will not be provided. We will review this matter if this arrangement needs to continue for an extended period of time and after we have consulted with HCL.

Keeping Our Community Safe:

Please check your child for symptoms, and do not come into school if they or anyone in your family show the following symptoms:

  • a high temperature (please try to take their temperature every morning)
  • a new, continuous cough or symptoms – this means coughing a lot, for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours
  • a loss or change to sense of smell or taste – this means they cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

The above 3 symptoms are from the NHS, and you should always consult your GP or call 111 NHS or use the coronavirus service https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19/

What to do if you have symptoms:

If you have any of the main symptoms of coronavirus:

1. Get a test to check if you have coronavirus as soon as possible.

2. Stay at home and do not have visitors until you get your test result – only leave your home to have a test.

3. Anyone you live with, and anyone in your support bubble, must also stay at home until you get your result. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/  Always contact the school if you are unsure of what to do or would like some advice.

SHOULD YOUR CHILD DEVELOP ANY OF THE ABOVE SYMPTOMS, PLEASE INFORM THE SCHOOL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (VIA EMAIL) TO ENSURE THAT THE SCHOOL CAN TAKE THE NECCESARY PRECAUTIONS IN-LINE WITH OUR RISK ASSESSMENT AND GUIDANCE FROM OUR LOCAL HEALTH PROTECTION TEAM. PLEASE SEND THE EMAIL TO EITHER head@stanboroughprimary.org.ukor info@stanboroughprimary.org.uk

Attendance W/C  19th April 2021:

Each school in the local authority has an attendance target which is set for them. This year our published school attendance target is 96%. I am impressed with last week’s attendance – let’s aim for  100% across all year groups this week.

Nursery100%
Reception100%
Year 1100%
Year 2100%
Year 3100%
Year 4100%
Year 599.22%
Year 6100%

Please contact the office if your child is unable to attend school by 10:00am every day in line with our school policy. We understand that the building is cold but we have to keep the windows open for ventilation due to Government regulations, so please ensure that your children arrive to school with lots of layers to keep warm.

Chromebooks:

Just a reminder that children can bring their personal Chromebooks into school this week as we will have Wi-Fi access whilst we are at the Secondary School. If your child does not have a Chromebook, they will have full access to a computer for research purposes if necessary as we will not be taking the school laptops across to the Secondary School.
