Dear Parents and Carers,
I can’t believe we are already at the end of the first month of 2023 time is certainly flying by. Since returning to school, we have been busy reviewing the quality of education that we provide for your child. We have already reviewed Maths and Writing across the school, and I am pleased to report that the children are progressing well. Our area of curriculum focus this week will be Computing. James Roach and our Maths Subject Leader, Mrs Adewole, will deliver a Maths workshop for all staff on Wednesday after school – so keep an eye on our January newsletter to see what we get up to!
School in Action Mornings:
Our next school-in-action morning for this term is today and tomorrow (24th January) from 9:30 – 11 am. Our School in Action Mornings provides an opportunity to see our pupils thriving and engaging in exciting lessons, meet our brilliant staff, and see what we believe makes Stanborough Primary School a special place!
During your visit, you will have an opportunity to speak with a representative from the Governing body or me to discuss our plans to move the school further. To register your attendance, please call the school office. We look forward to welcoming you.
Joint Assembly:
We will be holding our joint assembly between Stanborough Primary & Secondary School on Friday, 27th January, at Stanborough Church (609 St Albans Rd, Watford WD25 9JL). We request that you drop your children off at the Church no later than 8.40am. Members of the SLT and your child’s teacher will be waiting to greet them. If your child cannot meet us at the Church, they should come to the Primary School no later than 8.30 am, and a staff member will escort them to the venue.

Each school in the local authority has an attendance target that is set for them. This year our school attendance target is 96%. Of course, we do not expect children who are unwell to come to school. They need to stay at home and rest to get well. They also need to stay at home, so they do not pass on illness to others.
