Autumn 2 Week 2

Dear Parents and Carers,

The children have had a busy start to the term. As part of Parliament Week and The UN Climate Change Conference, years 4- 6 visited the Houses of Parliament. In addition, all pupils planted a seed that represented their commitment and pledge to being part of Climate Change; over the coming weeks, the children will monitor the growth of their seeds alongside their promises to help the planet.  I would also like to commend the years 4 and 5 pupils for writing to Mr Boris Johnson in preparation for his meeting with the world leaders regarding climate change. Please keep an eye on your child’s class blog to update our school’s commitment to climate change.

I want to draw your attention to the letter emailed to you last Friday from the Director of Public Health aimed at schools. The letter has asked schools to reintroduce stricter Covid procedures for staff and visitors to wear face masks in the communal areas inside the school building. Please can I ask that you wear face-covering when you visit the school office to reduce the risk of the spread of COVID-19; many schools have had to put their outbreak plan into action, and we want to avoid that as much as possible. We will continue to monitor the situation and thank you for your support with this.

This week both the staff and children will be participating in our annual week of prayer. We particularly look forward to opening our hearts and minds to receive all that God has for us through His Word and the guest speaker’s words of encouragement. Each day, the children will be given time to reflect on the different scriptures and what that means to them.
