School Closure

Dear Parents/Carers

RE: SCHOOL CLOSURE

On Thursday 12th March 2020, we were advised that an adult close to the Secondary School had a suspected case of COVID-19. Yesterday the hospital confirmed that the concerned adult had tested positive for COVID-19 and is undergoing treatment.

Due to the footfall between the two schools and the proximity of staff and students the Chair of Governors, Pastor Ian Sweeny and I have decided to close the Primary School for the next five days. The closure will enable us to contract an external agency to deep clean our school as an additional precautionary measure. The safety and well-being of our school community will always be our priority. Therefore, the school will be closed from Monday 16th March and will re-open on Monday 23rd March 2020.

Mrs Warwick will send out remote learning tasks for each class daily. Teachers will be contactable via email should you have any queries about the learning activities during school hours only. Please note that your child will need to have access to the internet to complete some of the learning tasks.

We are advising that all pupils and staff who feel unwell should stay at home and self-isolate for seven days. Further information regarding the coronavirus is contained within the link below.

This is a difficult time for the family in question and I am therefore requesting that you are mindful of how you communicate this information to members of the community, ensuring factual information. Let us continue to pray for the family at this time and our school community.

Blessings,

Mrs T Madden
Interim Headteacher
