At Stanborough Primary School, we promote ‘reading for pleasure. I would like to encourage all parents to read regularly to their children and this is not just for young children. In KS2 there are studies that show the importance of modelling reading to all children by a more experienced adult.
The Open University encourages reading for pleasure for teachers, school communities, and families at home. To find out more, the OUP has produced three short videos giving tips, modelling reading, posing questions, and the importance of book chat. Remember that sharing book chat with your child is fun!
