We have been busy practicing the formation of numbers. Have fun at home and practice this poem. You can sing with your child, write the numbers in the air (or on paper, in sand, with paint, or playdough), however you do it, just enjoy it!!
0 – From the top; A big oval, LEFT, down round and back to the top – zero’s the hero!!A straight line down is fun – that’s the way to make a one!
1 – A straight line down is fun – that’s the way to make a one!
2 – RIGHT, round, across-slide-down and straight back on the track. Two – two! Two – two!
3 – Around a tree, around a tree, that’s the way to make a three!
4 – Slide down and across and down once more. That’s the way to make a four!
5 – Big old five goes down and around. Put a flag on top and what have you found?
6 – RIGHT and a round-line and a loop, six rolls a hoop!
7 – LEFT across the sky and slide down form heaven, that’s the way to make a seven!
8 – Make a ‘s’ but don’t wait! Cross over, go back up, to make an eight!
9 – From the top RIGHT; go all the way round, then a down-line… that’s the way to make a nine!
10 – From the top LEFT; a one and a zero… ten is all your fingers, you know? 🙂
