Today we analysed non-fiction texts about the Milky way and all the scientists/astronomers who contributed to what we know today. We covered our windows with paper, had a star projector on and went on a journey, learning all about the ancient Greek legends, discoveries and scientists who have studied the Milky way. After reading the given text, we also looked at Latin/Greek words which helped us analyse the meaning of the name ‘Milky way’, we had star challenges and questions which we had to answer in teams. We were excited to have a more interactive guided reading session today and create our own retrieval questions.
