Can you eat a rainbow?

Nursery are exploring the topic how to stay healthy this half term. One of the nutritional ideas that’s easily understandable to even young children is the concept of “eating a rainbow,” or eating a variety of colourful fruits and vegetables each day. We were trying the different colours of the rainbow and learning about the benefits from all of them.

Eating a variety of foods will help the little ones to get essential nutrients and, by doing so, they’ll naturally embrace a broad colour palette. Fruits and vegetables are particularly colourful, so a rainbow plate can help them towards their 5-a-day. Plus, they are more likely to enjoy eating an attractive meal.

Our rich learning environment and all the interactive activities supported the healthy eating topic.
