Autumn 2 Week 3

Dear Parents/Carers,

Last week we had another action-packed week within the school community. We remembered those who gave up their lives in war and conflict through our Remembrance assembly in the Peace Garden, within our classrooms and by observing the official 2-minute silence on Thursday. The children also participated in our week of prayer; this was a time where the whole school took time to hear God’s voice and to reflect – Thank you, Mrs Zvezdova, for arranging such a fantastic week for us all. It was time well spent.

This week is Anti-Bullying Week, and the theme this year is ‘One Kind Word’. Let us remember that one kind word or scripture can change a person’s entire day. Following our whole school assembly today, the children will be sharing kind words and actions within the school community this week. Please keep an eye on your child’s class blog or Class Dojo to see their various acts of kindness.

As you know, we have seen a rise in Covid-19 cases within our community, so if your children displays any of the symptoms, please keep them at home and get them PCR tested. I am in regular contact with Public Health England, and they are confident that the measures we have in place are robust. However, if we are required to make any further changes, I will promptly share these with you. Thank you for your co-operation and support in this area.

Please be reminded of the letter that went out last evening regarding measures we’ve put In place due to a rise in Covid-19 cases (See attached).

COVID-19
You will be aware that NHS test and trace now get in touch with close contacts, who are then advised to take a PCR test. Pupils under 18 identified as close contacts do not need to self-isolate if they do not have symptoms.   Each school is required to have a contingency plan in the event of an outbreak.   General COVID information: Symptoms: • a high temperature • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot, for more than an hour, or three or more coughing episodes in 24 hours • a loss or change to the sense of smell or taste – this means they cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal. If you are not sure whether you or your child’s symptoms suggest that they have coronavirus or an everyday cough or cold, you can consult this online NHS symptom checker: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/ For most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness. If you are concerned about your child’s health or the health of anyone else in your household please seek advice from your GP, use NHS 111 online https://111.nhs.uk/ or call NHS 111.

Finally, let us remember, “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” Galatians 6:9

Love and blessings,

Mrs Madden
