Current government guidance regarding eligibility for the school care as of Monday 23rd March 2020 is that children with at least one parent or carer who are identified as critical workers by the Government can potentially send their children to school if required. However, we must emphasise that the government guidance also states that “many parents working in these critical sectors may be able to ensure their child is kept at home. Every child who can be safely cared for at home should be.”

Please can I ask all key workers or parents who believe they fall into any of the categories above to contact the school office immediately this morning between 9:00am or 12:00pm or email me directly, as this will enable me to plan effectively for next week. I will then communicate with all key workers directly with regards to the arrangements for next week.

The safety of all pupils and staff remains my top priority so please only use this provision if necessary as the fewer children in school limits the risk of the virus can spreading and infecting vulnerable individuals in the wider community. Please note, the current guidance around self-isolation regarding symptoms of coronavirus including a temperature of over 37.8°C and/or a persistent cough are still in force.

Home Learning Packs:

Year Packs for Reception – Year 6 are ready for collection from the school office today. If you have a child that is currently in self isolation, please feel free to pick up the pack from the school office once the isolation period has ended.

Thank you again for your understanding and continued support at this time. Stay well!
