Dear Parent and Carers,
Last week, I spent some time in the classroom looking through the pupil books and talking to the children about their learning. On Wednesday, the children exercised democracy through our yearly elections of the following leadership positions within the school:
- School Council
- Team Captains
- Faith Ambassadors
- Digital Leaders
- Wellbeing Champions (New position following the pupil’s voice)
Our whole school also took part in world Fitness Day – this was an enjoyable experience for all. Please keep up to date by looking at your child’s Class Blog.

COVID-19 |
You will be aware that NHS test and trace now get in touch with close contacts, who are then advised to take a PCR test. Pupils under 18 identified as close contacts do not need to self-isolate if they do not have symptoms. Each school is required to have a contingency plan in the event of an outbreak.General COVID informationSymptoms:• a high temperature• a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot, for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours• a loss or change to sense of smell or taste – this means they cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal. If you are not sure whether you or your child’s symptoms suggest that they have coronavirus or an everyday cough or cold, you can consult this online NHS symptom checker: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/For most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness. If you are concerned about your child’s health or the health of anyone else in your household please seek advice from your GP, use NHS 111 online https://111.nhs.uk/ or call NHS 111. |

The children need to have a healthy snack for morning break; this can be: fresh fruit, vegetables or salad items. Children will not be allowed to eat snacks that do not follow this rule at playtime. The children should only have water in their bottles in the classroom, but they may have juice at lunchtime.

H.S.A Volunteers
Would you like to join the Home School Association (H.S.A.)? They have lots of exciting events planned for this school year and would love to welcome some new parents to come and join them and support them in making it a fun-filled year! Would you please let the school office know if you could spare a bit of your time (however big or small) to help the H.S.A. run events.
