We explored the book ‘A place for plastic’
which follows a plastic bag on a journey looking for its place in the world, from the supermarket to a household bin and then from the back of a lorry into a river.
Early years showed care and concern for living things and the environment as they rescued sea creatures from an ‘ocean’ full of rubbish.
We realised that ocean pollution damages ecosystems and hurts millions of animals every year.
We had our own ‘recycling centre’ and a ‘recycling truck’, where we were able to sort out the rubbish.
The children also made a huge turtle from recyclable materials.
