Dear Parent and Carers,
Last week, I spent some time in the classroom looking through the pupil books and talking to the children about their learning. On Wednesday, the children exercised democracy through our yearly elections of the following leadership positions within the school:
- School Council
- Team Captains
- Faith Ambassadors
- Digital Leaders
- Wellbeing Champions (New position following the pupil’s voice)
Our whole school also took part in world Fitness Day – this was an enjoyable experience for all. Please keep up to date by looking at your child’s Class Blog.

|You will be aware that NHS test and trace now get in touch with close contacts, who are then advised to take a PCR test. Pupils under 18 identified as close contacts do not need to self-isolate if they do not have symptoms. Each school is required to have a contingency plan in the event of an outbreak.General COVID informationSymptoms:• a high temperature• a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot, for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours• a loss or change to sense of smell or taste – this means they cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal. If you are not sure whether you or your child’s symptoms suggest that they have coronavirus or an everyday cough or cold, you can consult this online NHS symptom checker: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/For most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness. If you are concerned about your child’s health or the health of anyone else in your household please seek advice from your GP, use NHS 111 online https://111.nhs.uk/ or call NHS 111.|
Attendance W/C 20th September 2021 2021
Each school in the local authority has an attendance target which is set for them. This year our published school attendance target is 97.5%. Well done to Reception, Years 2, 4 and 5 with a 100% attendance.
|Year Group||Attendance %|
Please contact the office if your child is unable to attend school by 10:00am every day in line with our school policy. We understand that the building is cold, but we have to keep the windows open for ventilation due to Government regulations, so please ensure that your children arrive at school with lots of layers to keep warm.
Year 6 Transition to Secondary School
Please be reminded that the portal is now open should you wish to apply for a Secondary School place. Please apply online at: https://www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/admissions
The application process closes on 31st October 2021.
Healthy Snack Reminder
The children need to have a healthy snack for morning break; this can be: fresh fruit, vegetables or salad items. Children will not be allowed to eat snacks that do not follow this rule at playtime. The children should only have water in their bottles in the classroom, but they may have juice at lunchtime.
Letters regarding the upcoming Flu (nasal spray) immunisation were sent home last week. Please return the forms as soon as possible (even if you DO NOT want your child to have the spray) If you require another copy of the form please visit the school office.
Would you like to join the Home School Association (H.S.A.)? They have lots of exciting events planned for this school year and would love to welcome some new parents to come and join them and support them in making it a fun-filled year! Would you please let the school office know if you could spare a bit of your time (however big or small) to help the H.S.A. run events.
Fundraising Clothes Bank
We now have a clothes bank in the school car park. Please feel free to donate any unwanted clothes, shoes or textiles which will help raise funds for our school. Please ensure that all items are in a carrier bag/black sack before depositing. Thank you.

Finally, let us remember, ‘Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us’.
